Abstract

Earthquake retaining structures required to reduced the negative effect of earthquake. This Building with steel structure use steel Concentrically Braced Frame (CBF). This research used 5 models of steel buildings with the same size 18 m x 18 m and the height 40 m. This buildings serves as an office building and was built on soft soil condition. Steel building used 2 types of bracing CBF, Xbraced and K-braced. The result of pushover analysis was perfomance level, pushover curve, plastic hinge distribution. The result of research found out that X braced is the most effective to increase rigidity and strength building. Model 4 can reduce displacement 40,045% in x direction and 56,079% in y direction. Model 4 can reduce drift ratio 50,685% in x direction and 62,423% in y direction, model 4 aslo has maximum drift ratio in 7th floor. Model 4 also has the biggest shear force at performance point with that is 1193,943 ton in x direction and 1134,332 ton in y direction. The result of analysis pushover is every model has performance level in immediate occupancy.
