Abstract

Ikan tambakan (Helostoma temminckii) merupakan ikan air tawar yang tersebar di wilayah tropis di daerah Asia tenggara. Namun, hasil produksi ikan tambakan masih bergantung dari hasil tangkapan di alam. Kegiatan budidaya ikan dapat berlangsung jika suplai benih terpenuhi. Keberhasilan dalam penetasan telur merupakan faktor terpenting dalam pembenihan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pH media terbaik untuk persentase penetasan telur, waktu penetasan telur ikan tambakan serta kelangsungan hidup larva ikan tambakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium dasar perikanan, pada bulan Maret-April 2022. Menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan P0 (pH kontrol 5,6-6,4), P1 (pH 5±0,2), P2 (pH 6±0,2), P3 (pH 7±0,2), P4 (pH 8±0,2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase penetasan telur terbaik pada P3 (pH 7 ± 0,2) yaitu 84 % dan waktu penetasan 994 menit.
