Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the effect of liquid fertilizer in Taiwan Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) on the digestibility values in vitro. Reseach was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Studies Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of sriwijaya, starting from the month of December 2011 to January 2012. The design used in this study was Complete Randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replications consisting of P0 (control), P1 (1 liter/ha Giving liquid fertilizer), P2 (2 liter/ha Provision of liquid fertilizer 1), P3 (3 liquid fertilizer giving liter/ha). The parameter observed were the NH3 Concentration, total VFA production, dry matter digestibility coenfficients (KCBK) and organic matter digestibility coeffecients (KCBO). The result showed that administration of liquid fertilizer is not significantly different influence on the concentration of NH3, VFA production, digestibility of dry matter and organic matter digestibility of grass Taiwan. The conclusion from this study that administration of a liquid fertilizer on Taiwan elephant grass relative influence on in vitro digestibility of Taiwan elephant grass.
