Abstract

This research discusses the Representation of Hedonism in Magnum Ice Cream Advertisements episode Special Experiences with Nia Ramadhani, Nindy Ayunda, Olivia Lazuardy. The purpose of this study was to find out the form of depiction of hedonism that occured in the Magnum ice cream advertisement episode "Special Experience." In this study, the author used the theory of semiotics by Charles Sanders Peirce, which explained the triadic model and the concept of trichotomy in carrying out the process of meaning of signs. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, literature study and documentation. The results of this study prove that there is a representation of hedonism displayed in magnum ice cream advertisements Special Experiences through Peirce's trichotomy analysis which focuses on representations, objects and interpretations displayed through various aspects in the form of activities, color composition, body gestures, facial expressions and Magnum Ice Cream which is always displayed indicating that Magnum ice cream has a function more than just complementary foods in general.
