Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the digestibility of kumpai tembaga grass ammoniation by in-vitro techniques. This research was held in two stage, teh first was ammoniation of kumpai tembaga grass was grown at swamp area and the second was in vitro analysis. Both experiment was held at Laboratory of Nutrition, faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. The research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications were: R0(kumpai tembaga grass without urea),R1(kumpai tembaga grass with urea 2%),R2(kumpai tembaga grass with urea 4%) and R3(kumpai tembaga grass with urea 6%). Parameters measured were acidity rumen (PH), concentration oh N-NH3, dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and gas production. The result showed that the treatments were non significantly differences (P>0.05) on dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, gas production and pH rumen but significantly difference (P>0.05) on concentration of N-NH3. Key Word : digestibility, kumpai tembaga grass, ammoniation, In-vitro techniques
