Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that are closely related to the functional position of the lecturer and also to classify the characteristics of the lecturer based on their functional position. This study uses the CHAID method with the steps of merging, splitting, and stopping. Data that being used in this study is lecturers data of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Sriwijaya University. The dependent variable used in this study is the Functional Position of the lecturer, and the independent variables are Gender, Age, Work Period, Civil Servant Rank, Work Period, Article Score, H-Index, Education, and Major. The result showing that the variables that most closely related to the Functional Position of the lecturers are the Civil Servant Rank, Article Score, Major, and Age, while the variables of Gender, Work Period, H-Index, Education, and Major do not have a close relationship with the functional position of the lecturers.
