Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan fisik dan kimia terhadap perkecambahan benih kemiri. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih, Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya, dari bulan April sampai dengan Juni 2010. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 7 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu perendaman dalam larutan KNO3 0,2% selama 30 menit, perendaman dalam air biasa selama 72 jam, perendaman dalam air dengan suhu 50 °C selama 2 jam. perendaman dalam larutan H2SO4 0,2% selama 30 menit, pembakaran selama 5 menit, perusakan kulit benih, dan pengelupasan kulit benih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan benih dengan cara perendaman dalam larutan KNO3 0,2% selama 30 menit memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap daya berkecambah benih kemiri.
