Abstract

Osteosarkoma disebut juga osteogenik sarkoma adalah suatu neoplasma ganas yang berasal dari sel primitif (poorly differentiated cells) di daerah metaflse tulang panjang. Sejauh ini penelitian mengenai karakteristik osteosarkoma masih sangat sedikit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik histopatologi penderita osteosarkoma periode lima tahun mulai Januari 2007 sampai dengan Desember 2011 di laboratorium Patologi Anatomi Rumah Sakit Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif dengan studi epidemiologi retrospektif. Karakteristik penderita osteosarkoma berusia 30-39 tahun, beijenis kelamin laki-laki dan lokasi yang paling sering terkena osteosarkoma adalah os femur. Osteosarkoma paling sering terkena pada pasien berusia 30-39 tahun sebesar 40%, berjenis kelamin laki-laki sebesar 60%, dan berlokasi di os femur sebesar 40%.
