Abstract

Background: Laryngeal Mask Airways (LMA) has become a new altemative that is often used in airway management because of its high success rate. At the time of insertion of LMA, muscle relaxants does not needed and also avoid the use of laryngoscope, which are known have more complications. However, in addition to ease and high success rates, the LMA is still have complications. One of the complications that can be dangerous is an increase of hemodynamic response, although it is rarely. Objective: This study aims to describe the hemodynamic patient under general anesthesia with insertion of LMA while in the operating room RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methods: An descriptive observational design with cross-sectional approach conducted in patients with Laryngeal Mask Airway insertion using the technique of general anesthesia. Using accidental sampling method. Data taken in the form of secondary data in the operating room RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from November 61*1 2012 to December 6^ 2012. Results: The subjects of this study who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria are 32 people. The results showed that there were no significant differences in haemodynamic State of the patient, such as systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate before insertion and after insertion of the LMA. Conclusions: From these results of this study it can be concluded that there significant hemodynamic changes of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in patients who underwent general anesthesia and insertion of LMA. In this study also found that the longer education of the performer through the insertion of the LMA, the fewer in increase of hemodynamic State.
