Abstract

Background : Postpartum haemorrhage is defined as 500 ml blood loss or more from reproductory tract afiter the delivery of the baby. In Indonesia, postpartum haemorrhage is the main cause of maternal death up to 40-50 % in 2003. This high prevalence of postpartum haemorrhage is closely related many preventable risk factor. Objective : To identify description of risk factor of postpartum haemorrhage patients in RK. Charitas Hospital in lst January 2010 -31st August 2011. Method : This is a descriptive study with case series design. Population of this study were all maternal who delivered baby with postpartum haemorrhage in obstetry and gynecology department of RK. Charitas Hospital during lst January 2010-3 lst August 2011. Sampel of this study were all maternal medical records who delivered baby with postpartum haemorrhage in obstetry and gynecology department of RK. Charitas Hospital during lsl January 2010-3 lsl August 2011. The data were obtained from patient’s medical records. The result then presented in table, diagram, and narration. Result : From total 5119 delivery, 23 were postpartum haemorrhage in RK. Charitas Hospital (0,45%). Description of risk factor of postpartum haemorrhage were placenta remnants (52,2%); the most postpartum haemorrhage type found was secondary haemorrhage (78,3%); most patient aged 20-35 years old (48,5%); multipara (73,9%); multigravida (82,6%); high school graduates (43,5%); majority of patients didn’t have job (91,3%); previous history of normal delivery (82,6%); anemia didn’t occur after haemorrhage (52,2%); no previous history of disease (91,3%); midwifes were the dominant firs helper (52,2%); patients weren’t refered case (52,2 %); all patients were fully recovered (100%); positive history of hospital delivery (52,2%).
