Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the position of the target tag placed in a predetermined position on a bookshelf in the library. The method applied in this location determination system is the landmarc method. Landmarc method is a development of the K-NN algorithm that works by giving a weighting factor to the nearest reference tag of the target tag being tested. This test uses 2 different reference tags namely 4 reference tags and 6 reference tags that are placed with the coordinates that have been determined. After 10 times of testing, the prediction coordinates will be obtained at each data retrieval, which will then be able to be used to find the error level so that it can be seen which is more effective to be used in the application system to track book locations with RFID using this landmarc method. From the test results using 4 reference tags produce predictive coordinates x = 0.51111 and y = 0.7093 with an average error rate of 0.2684m while the results of testing using 6 reference tags produce predictive coordinates x = 0.5772 and y = 1.0885 with an average error rate of 0.2250m. From the results of errors generated in this experiment it can be seen that the error value using 6 reference tags is smaller than the use of 4 reference tags. This means that the placement of the tag position on the use of 6 reference tags is more optimal than the 4 reference tags.
