Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan body image dan self-esteem di masa emerging adulthood pada wanita pageant. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan body image dan self-esteem di masa emerging adulthood pada wanita pageant. Penelitian ini menggunakan partisipan sebanyak 100 pageant on duty atau pageant yang sedang bertugas serta menggunakan 30 pageant on duty atau pageant yang sedang bertugas sebagai partisipan uji coba (try out). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala self-esteem yang mengacu pada aspek self-esteem oleh Coopersmith (dalam Khairat & Adiyanti, 2015) dan skala body image yang mengacu pada aspek body image oleh Muth dan Cash (dalam Nurfajri, 2017). Analisis data menggunakan correlation pearson product moment. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai r = 0,455 dan p = 0,000 (p<0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini diterima, yaitu ada hubungan positif yang signifikanantara body image dengan self-esteem di masa emerging adulthood pada wanita pageant. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between body image and self-esteem in emerging adulthood in pageant women. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between body image and self-esteem in emerging adulthood in pageant pageant women. This study used 100 pageants on duty and used 30 pageants on duty as try out participants. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used are the self-esteem scale which refers to the self-esteem aspect by Coopersmith (in Khairat & Adiyanti, 2015) and the body image scale which refers to the body image aspect by Muth and Cash (in Nurfajri, 2017). Data analysis using pearson product moment. The results of the data analysis showed the value of r = 0,455 and p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). This suggests that the hypothesis of this study is accepted, namely that there is a significant positive relationship between body image and self-esteem in emerging adulthood in pageant women.
