Abstract

This study aims to find out how the implementation of the right of formal education for child crime in prisons IIA palembang. This research was carried out in Palembang city precisely in prison for children of class I palembang by conducting data search through direct information through interviews with child criminal, correctional prison officer and teacher who teaches in prison.The results of research indicate that the implementation of the right of formal education in prison is not sufficient due to lack of learning resources in the form of reading material of newspaper and electronic media. Other than that the time allocation given to implement formal education is only 1x20 minutes / hour lessons that are considered less effective to receive lessons.
