Abstract

Prolonged inflammation of acne causes scars, post-acne. keloids. Sebum, total cholesterol, and LDL can influence. post-acne keloids. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between levels of sebum, total cholesterol, and LDL with post-acne keloids to determine risk factors for post-acne keloids. This study used data on keloid classification, clinical features, sebum levels, total cholesterol, and LDL in post-acne keloid. Patients at the Dermatology and Venereology outpatient at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. The sample of this study were patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria using consecutive sampling and then processed and analyzed univariately and bivariately. The most major keloid classification (59.1%). Most are aged 21-30 years (50%) and male (90.9%). Most clinical features of keloid onset>6 months-1 year (45.5%), duration 1-5 years (77.3%), multiple (68.2%), red vascularity (40.9%), pigmentation mixed (68.2%), height>5.mmh (59.1%), hard consistency (40.9%), pruritus (86.4%), and painless (54.5%). Dominant patients had low sebum (50%), normal total cholesterol (90.9%), and LDL above normal (40.9%). There was no significant relationship between sebum levels (p=1.0), total cholesterol (p= 1.0), and LDL (p = 0.376) with post-acne keloids. However, LDL levels above normal were most commonly found in this study as much as 68.2%. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between sebum levels, total cholesterol, and LDL with post-acne keloid Keywords: Post-acne keloid, sebum, cholesterol, LDL
