Abstract

The 5M movement was initiated by the government in order to break the chain of spread of the Corona virus starting in late 2020. The purpose of this study is to analyze various factors related to the compliance of the 5 M health protocol in Sriwijaya University education staff during the COVID-19 pandemic with a background of 73 positive confirmed education personnel from 1,317 numbers of education staff in Sriwijaya university. Research methods with analytical surveys and cross-sectional approaches. The study sample of 134 people was selected with simple random sampling in proportion. The analysis used in this study was in the form of univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi square test and multivariate analysis using double logistic regression test). The results of the univariate analysis of the majority of respondents comply with the 5M health protocol by 61.9%, the majority of respondents are well-informed by 75.4%, the majority of respondents are good at 56.7%, the majority of respondents have personal health facilities and facilities by 79.9%, and the majority of respondents have received social environmental support of 59.0%. The results of the bivariate analysis of four variables that are significantly related to compliance with the 5M health protocol in Sriwijaya University education personnel, namely age (0.019), gender (0.023), attitude (0.021), and health facilities and facilities (0.001). The variable of health facilities and facilities with p=0.013 (<0.05) is the most dominant factor and is 3,348 times more likely to comply with the 5M health protocol after being controlled by the gender variable and attitude as confounding. Education personnel act as a trigger for positive changes because it has an impact on the surrounding environment so that it is expected to always prioritize health and safety along with increasing compliance with the 5M health protocol to optimize the effectiveness of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
