Abstract

Lepra adalah penyakit kronik yang di sebabkan oleh mycobacterium lepare ( M. lepare ), mycobacterium lepare merupakan hasil tahan ( BTA ) bersifat obligat intraseluler, menyerang saraf perifer, selanjutnya dapat menyerang kulit, mulkosa mulut, saluran nafas bagian atas, system retikuloendotelial, mata, otot, tulang, testis, kecuali susunan saraf pusat. Lepra dapat menular tergantung pada sistem imun masing-masing tubuh manusia. Namun prevalensi lepra di setiap negara berbeda-beda. Di kota Prabumulih belum ada penelitian mengenai prevalensi lepra. Metode: Penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang melihat diagnosis pasien lepra yang tercatat pada data dan rekam medik di Puskesmas Cambai dan RS. Umum kota Prabumulih selama periode 1 Januari 2010 - 30 September 2011 (100%}. Kata kunci: jenis kelamin, usia, tipe lepra, angka kejadian, distribusi
