Abstract

Abstract Security issues are not only related to national security but also to human security such as violations of human rights in the form of gender-based violence. Violence against women is a very broad problem due to the forms of violence in the form of physical and non-physical and can be done by anyone and anywhere. Therefore, in order to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women, the UN General Assembly ratified the Cedaw Convention in 1979. Indonesia ratified the Cedaw Convention through Law no. 7 of 1984. This study used a qualitative descriptive observation method. Sources of data used are primary and secondary obtained from interviews, journals, articles, news, photo documentation and reports. The theory used is the theory of Regime Implementation proposed by Andersen in which this research wants to see 5 phases in regime implementation, namely regime acceptance, regime transformation, implementation of government programs, impact and response to programs, and program effectiveness. The results of this study indicate that the programs that have been organized by the South Sumatra Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service in dealing with cases of violence against women have been effective, this is because with the program, the victims find it easier to deal with the problems they are experiencing. Although there is one program that has not been fully effective. Keywords: CEDAW, South Sumatra, Violence Against Women, International Regime.
