Abstract

Hydroponic vegetables are horticultural commodities that are starting to be in great demand and developed in the agricultural sector today. The specialty of hydroponic vegetables itself is that the quality produced is fresher and cleaner than conventional vegetables, because the place of cultivation is not in contact with the soil so that it is relatively clean, the planting media is sterile, and the attack of diseases and pests is relatively small. These features create a special attraction for consumers to choose hydroponic vegetables compared to conventional vegetables. The aims of this study are: (1) To describe the characteristics of consumers who purchase hydroponic vegetables at the Hydroponic Center Palembang. (2) Analyzing consumer perceptions of hydroponic vegetables at the Hydroponic Center Palembang. (3)Analyzing what factors influence the purchase of hydroponic vegetables at the Hydroponic Center Palembang. The implementation of this research was carried out during the period July-August 2022 with 30 consumers of hydroponic vegetables. The data processing method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The results showed: (1) Characteristics of respondents from consumers of hydroponic vegetables at the Hydroponic Center Palembang, which are dominated by female sex, aged around 36-45 years. Hydroponic vegetable respondents have an average income of Rp. > 4,000,000/month, with an average of the latest Bachelor's education and having a permanent job. (2) Consumer perceptions of hydroponic vegetables from price and quality are in the criteria of strongly agree and consumer perceptions of hydroponic vegetables from packaging and location are in the agree criteria. (3) The factors that significantly affect the interest in buying hydroponic vegetables at the Hydroponic Center Palembang are Price and Quality.
