Abstract

Income of a vegetable trader is the profit obtained after the revenue of vegetable products is deducted by the costs incurred in the process of marketing activities. The objectives of this research activity were (1) to analyze the sales volume of vegetables at the Jakabaring Central Market before and during the Covid-19 pandemic; (2) Describe the mechanism for distributing vegetables from the Jakabaring Central Market to retailers before and during the Covid-19 pandemic; (3) Analyzing the difference in the income of vegetable sellers before and during the Covid-19 pandemic; (4) Analyze the factors that affect the income of vegetable traders in the Jakabaring Central Market. This research was conducted in May 2022 until July 2022. The volume of sales made by vegetable traders at the Jakabaring Central Market has decreased during the Covid-19 pandemic. The distribution channel carried out by vegetable traders at the Jakabaring Central Market is an indirect channel where the traders do not buy directly from the farmers but use an indirect distribution channel where the wholesalers will buy vegetables from collectors/middlemen who come to the Central Market to sell the farmers' crops. to wholesalers at the Jakabaring Central Market every day. The income of vegetable traders at the Jakabaring Central Market has changed during the Covid-19 pandemic, in which almost all commodities experienced a decrease in income. The factors that had a significant influence on the income of vegetable traders at the Jakabaring Main Market before the Covid-19 pandemic were price and capital while during the Covid-19 pandemic it was influenced by the amount of supply and price.
