Abstract
Background: The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the world and made a significant impact in various sectors of life including healthcare. Telemedicine is one of the potential innovations to be used in the pandemic era. In line with the progress of the industrial revolution 4.0, there have been developments in the field of information and communication technology. The health sector is considered potential to be developed because it can prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus through remote health services. The length of practice is considered to be one of the factors that can influence the use of telemedicine Objectives: this study aims to determine the relationship between the length of practice and the use, knowledge, perception and attitude of dentists towards telemedicine services in Palembang City. Method: This study used an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional study design and included 68 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. This study used a questionnaire consisting of 1 open-ended question and 21 closed questions filled out through a google form. The data obtained were carried out validity tests using pearson product moment, cronbach alpha reliability test and analyzed using chi square test. Results: 95.6% of respondents are familiar with telemedicine and 82.4% of respondents have used telemedicine services in dental and oral health services. The results of the chi square test were statistically no relationship between the length of practice and the use, knowledge, perception and attitude of dentists towards telemedicine services with the results ( p>0.05). Conclusion: Overall, respondents had a positive level of use, knowledge, perception and attitude towards telemedicine services and there was no significant relationship between the length of practice and the use, knowledge, perception and attitude of dentists towards telemedicine services in Palembang City.
