Abstract

The research area is located in the Ci Jolang sub-watershed in Kuningan Regency and its surroundings, West Java Province. This research is a follow-up study of the previous geological mapping activities. The Ci Jolang sub-watershed has an area of 242.95 km2. The level of rainfall intensity in the study area is quite high. This causes a greater chance of potential flooding so that it can threaten residential areas around the Ci Jolang river. For this reason, this study is intended to determine the zoning of flood-prone areas in the research area by paying attention to hydraulic parameters. The hydraulic parameters are divided into three, including the level of rainfall intensity, runoff coefficient, and estimated runoff discharge. Rainfall analysis was taken based on data from rainfall stations using the SiBIAS application, and processed using the Mononobe and Sherman equations. For the calculation of runoff coefficient data, it is guided by satellite image data and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) which includes changes in land cover, lithology type and slope. Meanwhile, the calculation of the estimated peak runoff is modeled using the HEC-RAS application and ArcGIS using the Hassing method and the Rational method. Based on rainfall data in the period 2012-2021 in the 5 and 10 year return period, the peak runoff discharge has increased with an average value of 9.8%. So that in the future there is the potential for an increase again in the following year. Therefore, this study can play a role in analyzing the potential for flooding that will occur in the Ci Jolang sub-watershed and its surroundings and can take steps to overcome the impact of flooding, such as by building embankments along rivers that are prone to potential flooding.
