Abstract

Background: Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Lanjut Usia (Posyandu Lansia) is a forum for basic health services for the elderly community. In 2021, only 61.6% of the elderly in the Puskesmas Pembina area received health screening. This study aims to determine the participation of the elderly in the Posyandu Lansia Puskesmas Pembina Kota Palembang. Methods: This research is qualitative research. Data collection using interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants of this study are the coordinators of Posyandu Lansia, the elderly, cadres, and the community. Result: Activities at the Posyandu Lansia Puskesmas Pembina have not been in accordance with technical guidelines. The participation of the elderly in the Posyandu Lansia Puskesmas Pembina is still not good. The form of participation of the elderly in the Posyandu Lansia is to become a member and take advantage of the results of these activities. Community support includes labor support, financial support, and material support. Knowledge of the elderly and the public for this program known as a free medical check-up activity for the elderly. Factors supporting these activities include the presence of elderly people who actively participate in activities, the role of cadres, and free health checks. The inhibiting factors for these activities include the lack of asking the elderly, the weather, and the lack of facilities. Conclusion: The participation of the elderly who take advantage of the Posyandu Lansia Puskesmas Pembina is still not good, it is found that there are still few work programs carried out at the Posyandu Lansia and the limited support provided by the community for this program.
