Abstract

Background: Ergonomics is the science of designing jobs that suit the needs of workers compared to the physical body according to the work. In ergornomics there are risk factors, Ergonomics risk factors at work are related to the mechanical workload faced by a person during his working period. Occupational risk factors that also contribute to the incidence of low back pain are work posture , workload, length of work, frecuency, and individual factors, namely age, gender, and years of service. Metods: This study aims to analyze what factors affect ergonomic risk, this research is a quantitative study using an analytical survey approach through a cross-sectional approach carried out by direct observation using a technique (walk through survey) with a measuring instrument in the form of a checklist Ergonomic Criteria from WAC (Washington Administrative Code). The research sample is 70 workers from a total of 225 working population at PT. BPR Palembang in 2017. Data analysis used the Chi Square test with IBM SPSS version 24 media. Result: From the results of the Chi Square test on 6 variables, namely age, gender, years of service, workload, work posture, and work frequency, only gender and work posture variables produced a p Value < α (0,05). Conclusion: The results of the study show that only gender and work posture have a significant effect on ergonomics risk.
