Abstract

Ultisols are a type of soil that needs to be processed before carrying out agricultural activities. Giving liquid organic fertilizer is a solution on ultisol soil because liquid organic fertilizer contains various types of nutrients that can increase soil fertility. This study aims to understand the effect of the application of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu factory liquid waste on the population of microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the pakcoy plant (Brassica rapa L.) on ultisols and to find out the best dose of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu factory liquid waste to increase the population of microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the pakcoy plant (Brassica rapa L.) on ultisols. This research was carried out in a greenhouse and analysis was carried out in the Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Soil Science Study Program, Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research activity started from July to September 2022. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replicates so there were 24 experimental units. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu factory liquid waste at different doses had a very significant effect on the population of soil bacteria and the highest average population of soil bacteria was found in treatment D with an amount of 13.5 x 105 cfu ml-1. The application of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu factory liquid waste at different doses also had a very significant effect on the population of soil fungi with the highest average population of soil fungi found in treatment F with an amount of 17.5 x 105 cfu ml-1.
