Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Umpam, Kecamatan Lengkiti, Kabupaten OKU, Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi lingkungan batimetri dan paleoekologi yang terdapat pada lokasi penelitian melalui analisis fosil foraminifera plankton dan bentos, penentuan batimetri dan analisis paleoekologi. Metode yang dilakukan menggunakan rasio P/B diagram triangular plot murray, dan diagram indeks keanekaragaman  fisher. Lokasi pengamatan terdiri dari 15 LP terdiri dari Formasi Baturaja (Tmb) dengan litologi batugamping dan Formasi Gumai (Tmg) dengan litologi batupasir karbonatan. Lingkungan batimetri yang terdapat pada lokasi penelitian berupa neritik dalam hingga neritik tengah, yang diperoleh dari hasil identifikasi persentase rasio plankton dan bentos yang telah dilakukam. Hasil ploting presentase jenis cangkang pada diagram triangular menunjukkan bahwa paleoekologi termasuk ke dalam lingkungan marine – lagoon, dengan tingkat keberangaman 4, yang diinterpretasikan memiliki salinitas berupa hyposaline lagoon, normal marine lagoon, dan hypersaline lagoon. Berdasarkan jumlah spesies dan jumlah individu dari fosil foraminifera plankton dan bentos yang diproyeksikan pada diagram indeks α fisher menunjukkan lokasi penelitian termasuk kedalam lingkungan marine – lagoon, dengan tingkat salinitas beragam yang berkisar antara 0,5 – 80 ppt.
