Abstract

The motor speed detector on 201 meters drag race track is a tool that can display the results of the motor speed precisely and accurately. Drag race is a high speed motorcycle racing on straight track about 201 meters long that consist of two drivers on two tracks. The purpose of this final project is to design a speed timer for vehicle on 201 meters drag race track. This motor speed detector use main components include Arduino Uno R3, photodiode sensor, laser diode, 8 channel relay, battery and dot matrix display P10. The testing done on the drag race track about 201 meters long with 2 track test, that the width of each track is 4 meters. Based on the results of the test shows the detector successfully calculate the fastest motor speed on drag race with a percentage error rate of 17.6%.
