Abstract

This research is entitled "Implementation of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (Case Study of the Examination of Cybercrime by the Palembang Police)". This research is motivated by the rise of cyber crime cases. The purpose of this study was to find out the Implementation of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (Case Study of the Examination of Cybercrime by the Palembang Police). The type of research used is descriptive with qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The theory used in this study is the theory of policy implementation by Van Meter and Van Horn that affects the performance of policy implementation, namely standards and policy objectives, resources, characteristics of implementing agents, attitudes of implementing agents, communication between organizations, and social, economic, and political environments . The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (Case Study of the Examination of Cybercrime by the Palembang Police) has achieved the performance target but based on the implementation indicators there are still several constraints including the lack of operational funds for inspection cyber crime so that inspection activities are also limited. The results of this study recommend that the policy be modified so that it is more practical by paying attention to suggestions such as greater budget support and increasing continuous communication with the target group, and expanding the range of examining cyber crime in the South Sumatra region, especially in Palembang City.
