Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of mindfulness on marital satisfaction in non-working wives. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a role for mindfulness on marital satisfaction in non-working wives. Participants in this study were 200 non-working wives and their marriage age was in the range 0-10 years in Indonesia. Marital satisfaction scale refers to dimension of marital satisfaction from Hendrick (1988). This study used sampling technique purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used in this study is the marital satisfaction scale compiled by researchers refers to dimensions of marital satisfaction from Hendrick (1988) and also the mindfulness scale refers to aspects of mindfulness for Baer and Krietemeyer (2006). Data analysist in this study used simple regression. The results of simple regression shows R square = 0,157, F = 34,935, p = 0,000 (p<0,005). This means that mindfulness has a significant role toward marital satisfaction. Thus, the hypothesis could be accepted and mindfulness contribution toward marital satisfaction is 15,7%.
