Abstract

Malaria is the most common parasitic disease in the world. Malaria is transmitted to human hosts by mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the malaria elimination program in the Muara Enim Regency area. This research was an evaluative type of research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The informants were selected purposively. Data were obtained by fokus group discussions, in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. The results of evaluating the input were known that there were no entomologists in Muara Enim Regency as functional entomologists. The results of the evaluation of the healthy finding program process show that the problem faced was that there are still some Puskesmas that do not have RDT, Giemsa, and trained malaria microscopy personnel. Distribution of bed nets for patients and pregnant women and environmental management of eradication of mosquito nests had been carried out. SKD-KLB was reported every week. However, method 125 had not been implemented in all cases of malaria which was an obstacle in the absence of regional compliance or district head regulation specifically regulating malaria. No retraining of microscopic power had been carried out for management personnel. The results of the product evaluation of the implementation of the malaria elimination program in the Muara Enim Regency had been carried out quite well. However, there were still indigenous cases, so the elimination requirements had not been met. The results of this study indicate that the evaluation of the malaria elimination program in the Muara Enim Regency still faces several obstacles.
