Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture through Balai Bahasa Sumsel has routinely made activities aimed at campaigning for the use of good and correct Indonesian language, while maintaining the preservation of this nation's unifying language. One of the routine activities is known as the Language Ambassador selection, which is held in every province in Indonesia, including South Sumatra. In practice, the selection process for these Language Ambassadors requires rigorous selection, given the increasing number of applicants, so the Balai Bahasa Sumsel determines certain criteria so that prospective Language Ambassador winners can be determined objectively. Because there are many criteria, a system is needed that can help make decisions quickly and precisely, to alleviate the work of the Balai Bahasa Sumsel in determining the prospective Ambassador of Language winner. For this reason, in solving these problems a decision-making system is used using the Promethee Method. Promethee Method has the ability to handle many comparisons, as well as determining priority sequences (ranking) in multicriteria analysis. So this method is very suitable to be applied in the Language Ambassadors selection program that has many criteria and must be known the ranking of the winners. The results of this system can provide an assessment of each participant in the Language Ambassadors according to predetermined criteria.
