Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model with the help of crossword puzzle on the learning outcomes of students for VII Grade SMP Negeri 45 Palembang in the learning material of the organizational systems of life. The research method used was Quasi Experimental with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Determination of the sample using Simple Random Sampling, with the sample of the study are class VII-5 (n=27) as experimental class and class VII-4 (n=27) as control class. The collecting data of this research used 25 multiple choices question with 5 choices answer. Analysis data using SPSS 23. The analysis research data with Shapiro-Wilk and continue with Levene and uji-t. The results showed there was a significant increase in learning outcomes, with a significance value of 0.001. The average value of the initial test was 32.59, the final test 81.18 with an average index of gain index of 48.59. Based on the results it can be concluded that learning uses the Think Pair Share learning model with the help of crossword puzzle can improve student learning outcomes of students VII Grade SMP Negeri 45 Palembang on Life Organization System learning material.
