Abstract
Background: Temporary fllling is a restoration placed in the cavity to protect and prevent bacteria from oral cavity during permanent restoration completed. Temporary filling materials must provide an adequate seal to prevent microleakage. Microleakage of various temporary filling materials is influence of properties materials. The aim of this study was to evaluate the difference of microleakage various temporary filling materials. Materials and Methods: In this study, class I cavity were prepared in 30 teeth of lower premolars which randomly divided into 5 groups. Each groups were filled with zinc oxide eugenol, zinc phosphate cement, calcium sulfate, glass ionomer cement, and composite resin. Thermocycling was carried out at temperature 4 XI and 60 XI and then, immersed in 0,5% basic fuchsin solution for 24 hours at 37X1. AU specimens were cut mesiodistally and evaluated under profilprojector. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Post-Hoc LSD. Result: The result of ANOVA showed that a significant difference of microleakage of temporary fllling materials. Post-Hoc LSD showed that zinc oxide eugenol significantly was different with calcium sulfate and composite resin, zinc phospahte cement significantly was different with calcium sulfate, glass ionomer cement, and composite resin, calcium sulfate significantly was different with glass ionomer cement and composite resin (p<0,05.) Conclusion: Calcium sulfate showed the lowest value of microleakage of temporary filiing materials followed by composite resin, glass ionomer cement, zinc oxide eugenol, and zinc phosphate cement.
