Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of fear of failure on burnout on internship doctors. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a role of fear of failure on burnout on internship doctors The population of this study were internship doctors on duty at the hospital emergency room in Indonesia. The sample of this study are 205 internship doctor and 50 internship doctors for try out. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Both measuring instruments are made by this study researcher, the burnout scale refers to dimensions of burnout from Greenberg dan Baron (2003). The fear of failure scale refers to standard scale from Conroy (2002) which has been modified. The data analysis used is simple linear regression. The result of the simple linear regression for fear of failure on burnout showed that the R square is 0,282, F value is 79,591, and the significance value is 0,000 (p<0,05). This shows that fear of failure has significant role on burnout. Therefore, the hypothesis in this study can be accepted.
