Abstract

Banyuasin regency, south sumatera province has a great potential as of fishery and marine resources. The potential of fishery resources at Banyuasin regency include from activity of capture fisheries and aquaculture. Estimation of fish stock used to know the abundance of fish stock also to estimate the rate of fish exploitation at waters without endagering its sustainability. The purpose of this research was to analyze the composition and length also the target strength (TS) of fish, Nautical area scattering coefficient (NASC) is use to know the density of fish stock with accoustic and swept area. Hidroaccustic surveying use scientific echosounder SIMRAD EK15 single beam with frequency of 200 kHz and mini bottom trawl (MBT) for sampling as method. Echoview 4.8, Arc Gis 10.1 and microsoft excel use for data processing. The result of this research shows that is 13 species were classified on 11 family at research site. Leiognathidae were the most dominant, with lenght about 2 – 24 cm, weight 2 – 188 gr, and TS about -65 untill -38.5dB. accoustic density area ranged from 0 – 15 kg/km2 and density of its volume about 0 – 10 fishes/m3 with highest score was from coastal area. The relation between accoustic methods and fish catching were 0.935 for area density and 0.593 for volume density with using linear regression
