Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk Tanjung Enim Mining Unit is a holding company for mining SOEs (BUMN) that is engaged in energy and coal mining. Mining system at PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk uses an open-pit mining system with shovel and truck methods and continuous mining methods (Bucket Wheel Excavator system) . Pit TSBC Tambang Air Laya in September 2018 is targeted for overburden removal of 1,700,000 BCM, but the production of overburden stripping has not been achieved so it is necessary to evaluate the performance of loader and hauler equipment that working on stripping at pit TSBC Tambang Air Laya in September 2018. The purpose of this study was to determine the achievement of overburden stripping production, constraint factors that affect the achievement of overburden stripping production, and efforts to increase overburden stripping production.The research method used in this research activity is combining theory and actual data in the field regarding the research, so that analysis and solutions to solve the problem will be obtained. The results showed that based on the calculation, theactual productivity of the excavator Komatsu PC 1250 and dump truck HD 785 had productivity of 3,344.39 BCM / hour and 3,184.70 BCM / hour, so that the production achiecment of overburden stripping in pit TSBC tambang Air Laya is only reaching 1,335,663.73 BCM or around 79 % of the planned target. The main factors that influence the performance of loader and hauler equipment which is working in pit TSBC Tambang Air Laya have caused production failure to achieve overburden stripping is an operator efficiency factor, namely high time constraints due to many work barriers such as Friday prayers, on-site maintenance, refueling, monthly safety talk, rest and meals, heating equipment, shifting shifts, prayers, rain, slippery, waiting for other units (ripping), unavailability of operators, general working, too late to start work and too quickly ending work. The high barriers time causes effective working time which is only 419.4 hours and mechanical devices only have availability based on physical avaibility of 98 %, mechanical avaibility of 97 %, use of avaibility of 59 %, and effective utilization of 58 %. Therefore efforts are needed to overcome the obstacles that cause the greatest loss of time such as waiting for other units, the unavailability of operators, shifting shifts, starting work too late, and ending work too quickly and efforts to overcome avoidable obstacles such as on-site maintenance and refueling, so that new effective working time improvements were obtained and increased to 508.9 hours with work efficiency of 71 %. Based on the improvement efforts that have been made, the actual productivity value of the repairs for the excavator Komatsu PC 1250 and the dump truck HD 785 conveyance are 4,093.99 BCM/hour and 3.901,86 BCM/hour with the achievement of stripping production increased to be 1.985.654,65 BCM or around 117 %.
