Abstract

Chlorophyll-a is one of the parameters that affects the water productivity . Chlorophyll-a measurement can be used by conventional method and remote sensing technology. The purpose of this research were to analyze the concentration of chlorophyll-a and mapping the distribution of chlorophyll-a in Musi River Estuary, South Sumatera Province using multi-temporal Landsat imagery. The data were collected on 10 and 11 November 2018 in Musi River Estuary at high tide and low tide condition. Chemical-physics parameter were processed using Surfer 12 software and image processing were processed using ErMapper 7.0, Envi 4.3 and ArcGIS 10.1 software. The result showed that chlorophyll-a concentrations in Musi River Estuary at low tide conditions were higher than high tide. The concentration of chlorophyll-a was classified as moderate with an average value of 15,269 mg/m3. The algorithm obtained from the results of this study is 0.00049((B5+B6)/B4)10.491 - 0.05286((B5+B6)/B4)6.994 + 1.639090((B5+B6)/B4) 3.497 + 1.6133 that modified from the algoritm Nuriya (2010). The distribution pattern of chlorophyll-a in 2013-2017 has decreased in concentration for each year.
