Abstract

Geopolymer concrete is an innovative concrete with materials that are more environmentally friendly and has better durability. Geopolymer concrete is made from low specific gravity aggregate mixed with aluminosilicate binder and alkaline solution. The use of concrete is closely related in the development process, especially the construction of buildings. Flat plate is one of the structural elements consisting of plates and columns without any shear support such as beams, so that flat plate structures are very vulnerable to shear forces, especially shear forces caused by earthquakes. The use of studs on flat plate structures is one way to overcome this. Previous experimental tests have carried out this test so that it can be carried out using the finite element method. Experiments with the finite element method can be carried out with the help of the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) program where variations are added to the use of studs diameter of 0.5 in., 0.75 in., and 1 in. The output of the program used is in the form of load-deflection curves, stress contours, deflection contours, ductility, stiffness, energy dissipation, and the effect of shear on the diameter of the studs. The conclusion from the analysis results obtained is that the use of larger diameter studs will be able to provide better shear resistance in flat plate structures. The use of geopolymer concrete is also able to provide better shear resistance so that it is suitable for use in the construction process.
