Abstract

The increasing development in the world of broadcasting especially radio, has encouraged Radio Trax FM Palembang to be more creative in making a broadcast program to attract many listeners. Good broadcast media management and the creative team in the internals of Radio Trax FM Palembang carry out various strategies to further innovate in making a creative idea for every existing broadcast event and program. It aims to maintain and improve the quality of the broadcast program. This study aims to find out how the management of Radio Trax FM Palembang broadcast media in improving the quality of Kompak Bareng broadcast programs. Research data are obtained through in-depth interviews, observations and documentation with qualitative research methods. This research uses Peter Pringle's theory in which there are four aspects of broadcast media management consisting of program planning, program production or purchase, program execution and program supervision and evaluation. The results showed that Radio Trax FM Palembang has implemented a broadcast media management strategy well which includes important aspects in broadcast media management ranging from program planning, program production or purchase, program execution and program supervision and evaluation. From this research, Radio Trax FM Palembang needs to reorganize the division of duties of each division member and conduct regular evaluations for broadcast program broadcasters so that obstacles and problems will not occur in the broadcast process.
