Abstract

The success of graduates in the world of work is one of the things that a university wants to achieve. Sriwijaya University aims to produce quality graduates in order to prepare students to compete in the world of work. One of the things that graduates also want to achieve after completing their studies is getting a job. However, it certainly requires a waiting period in getting a job. Therefore, it is necessary to know what factors affect the alumni's waiting period in getting a job. To find out if graduate students from Sriwijaya University have found work, you can see the tracer study data managed by the Career Development Center (CDC) every year. In this study, applying data mining science with the classification method using the C4.5 algorithm in processing data on the alumni waiting period for 2018-2020 to predict the waiting period for future alumni. This method uses organizational attribute indicators, apprenticeship, study period, and GPA using RapidMiner tools. This research produces a series of decision branches as many as 19 patterns or rules that form the basis for determining data labels or classes with an accuracy rate of 89.30%. The results of this decision pattern show the most influential attribute, namely organizational attributes.
