Abstract
Forage is the main feed for ruminant, such as cattle, buffalo, goat, and sheep. Forage grows on dry land, limited dry land is a factor in the lack of forage production as feed animal. Are bolong is one of the many forages found in swamps and can be used as feed animal. The aimed of this research to studied the digestibility value of are bolong fermented by bioboost and EM-4 in vitro. This research was conducted from August until October 2022 in the Laboratory of Nutritions and Feeds Animal Science, Departement Agricultue Faculty of Sriwijaya University. The method in this research was experimental with 2 treatments: P1 (Bioboost) and P2 (EM-4) with 5 repetitions for each treatment. The parameters observed covered dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, concentration N-NH3 and pH. The results showed that the treatments P1 and P2 were not significantly different (P>0,05) in terms of dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and pH, but significantly different (P<0,05) in the concentration of N-NH3. The conclusion of this research was that are bolong fermented by EM-4 was better than bioboost, which resulted in a concentration of N-NH3 (8,20 mM).
