Abstract

Based on the flood events that have occurred in Indonesia in the period January 2012 - December 2019, South Sumatra is the 5th province prone to flooding in Indonesia (PUPR, 2019). These flood problems mostly occur in the Seberang Ilir region of Palembang City. Seberang Ilir region of Palembang City, consist of several watersheds (DAS) such as Gandus, Lambidaro, Boang, Sekanak, Bendung, Batang, Kidul, Buah, Juaro, Selinca, and Nyiur were often affected by flooding. This study aims to initiate flood control measures to create flood inundation map based on depth and area parameters. Analyses are conducted through three processes, namely hydrological analysis, hydraulic analysis, and spatial analysis. In the hydrological analysis, maximum daily rainfall data for the last 10 years are obtained from BMKG rain station in Palembang City. The average rainfall was calculated using using the isohyet method from arcGIS tools, and the design discharge calculation using the HSS Nakayasu method. Hydraulics analysis was carried out using the HEC-RAS version 6.3.1 program by utilizing the RAS Mapper for river morphology extraction. Steady flow simulation is carried out in two conditions, namely normal depth conditions and maximum tide conditions. The simulation results are displayed in raster format, then reclassified and verified with observed flood points. At normal depth conditions, the maximum average height of inundation occurred in the Lambidaro watershed of 2.09 meters with an inundation area of 721.53 hectares. Meanwhile, during maximum tide conditions, the average maximum inundation height that occurred in the Nyiur watershed of 3.17 meters with an inundated area of 213.96 hectares.
