Abstract
Due to its geographical position, which is on the equator, and the sunshine throughout the year, it is appropriate to apply and utilize the abundant amount of endless solar energy in Indonesia. Thus, to meet the electricity needs in Indonesia and be an alternative to the power supply from PLN (Indonesian State Electricity Company), it is appropriate to develop photovoltaic - a process that can convert solar energy into electrical energy directly with the assist of moving solar panel with 15 watts LED DC light-loaded reflector. The results showed that the energy generated by moving solar panel with a reflector given a 15 watt LED DC lamp for 12 hours resulted an optimum power of 20.15 watts. Economically, the cost of using photovoltaic system is still expensive and inefficient to be applied in Indonesia compared to PLN's electricity cost. The cost of photovoltaic system is Rp 15,019,57,- per kWh while those of PLN is Rp 7,300,8,- per month with the same electrical load.
