Abstract

This study was conducted to prove the effect of economic literacy on consumptive behavior in Economic Education Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University Academic Year 2020. This research is a causalassociative research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all Economic Education Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University Academic Year 2020, totaling 72 students. Sampling using Probability Sampling with Simple Random Sampling technique and obtained a sample of 61 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. Test the validity of the instrument using the Product Moment formula and reliability using Alpha Cronbach. The results of the research that has been done show that economic literacy data is in a high category with an average percentage of 76% and the results of consumptive behavior data are in a high category with an average percentage of 80%. Data analysis conducted using the t-test shows that t_{count}\ =5,280\ and t_{table}\ =1.671,\ From the results of these calculations t_{count} is greater than t_{table} or\ 5,280\ \geq\ 1.671, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, which means that there is an effect of economic literacy on the consumptive behavior of economic education students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University Academic Year 2020.
