Abstract

Nowadays, transportation has developed as one of the very important needs for the construstion in South Sumatra, especially in Kayuagung city. Society will have problems i f there is no mapping of an area. Therefore, it needs a planning map of the transportation Service. The aim of this study was to adjust the lack of route Services with the results of research conducted so that all people in Kayuagung city, especially they are who live in the suburbs can enjoy the good route Service and to plan the route of public transportation for the areas which had not get the route Service at all in Kayuagung city. This planning of the mapping of trasportation Service was supported by the VISUM Software to analyze the desire line among the zones and VISSIM to evaluate various altematives of transportation engineering and the most effective level of planning. This program was used as a simulation of all types of vehicles and could provide the visual elements in 3D. The results of this study found that a planning map of public transportation route to complete the Service of public transportion in some areas were not optimal and could reach all areas to meet the needs of the population movement, especially in suburban areas of Kayuagung City.
