Abstract

White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is a fish with growth relatively fast and has a high tolerance to environmental changes. The content of active compounds in red ginger (Zingiber offcinale) can increase the digestibility of fish to feed so as to spur fish growth and increase fish resistance through increased response imun. The purpose of this study to determine the rate of growth and survival white snapper fry using artifical feed added extract red ginger and the optimal dose of red ginjer extract addition with the concentration different. Processing of test materials is carried out in the Bioecology Laboratory Marine University Of Sriwijaya. The main research was conducted in 12 October – 10 November 2022 at Main Center for Marine Aquaculture of Lampung. The method used is a complete randomized design using 4 treatment 3 times repetition: A (0 ml/kg), B (5 ml/kg), C (10 ml/kg), D (15 ml/kg). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA test at the level 95% confidence and further tested Tukey to find out the best treatment. Parameters observed include absolute gowth, SGR, FCR, SR and water quality. The results showed the addition of red ginger extract significant effect on absolute growth, SGR and FCR. Dosage best in the addition of turmeric extract 15 ml/kg that snapper seedlings with SGR 1,58% days and FCR of 0,07 for 29 days of maintenance.
