Abstract
Teenage pregnancy is a problem which is still increasing every year. The impact of teenage pregnancy can cause several health problems for mothers and their babies. Lack of knowledge regarding to teenage pregnancy, especially in terms of prevention, is one of the reasons that the number of teenage pregnancies continues to increase. Health education in teenagers is an effort to prevent teenage pregnancy. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge before and after health education on the “Spin-Edu” media game on teenage knowledge in preventing pregnancy in their teens. The type of study was a pre-experiment with a one group pretest-posttest research design. The sampling technique in this study was probability sampling and cluster sampling with 101 respondents at Junior High School 11 Sukarami. Data was collected by using a knowledge questionnaire about teenage pregnancy. The result of the study with paired t-test shows that p value = 0.00. This data shows that there is a significant effect on teenager knowledge in preventing pregnancy in their teens after being given health education with the “Spin-Edu” media game. Prevention can be conducted by increasing knowledge. Teenager knowledge is something that should be considered in improving teenager health, especially in preventing teenage pregnancies. In addition, the “Spin-Edu” media game can be used as an innovation media in increasing knowledge.
