Abstract

This study examines and analyzes the influence of institutional factors and monetary policy on financial deepening in ASEAN. This study uses secondary data sourced from the World Governance Indicators and the world bank. The model in this study uses the ordinary least squares with panel data regression analysis technique consisting of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, and Myanmar from 2012 to 2021. The findings in this study indicate that the effectiveness variable government and exchange rates have a positive and significant effect on financial deepening, but corruption control variables have a negative and insignificant effect, interest rates have a positive and insignificant effect on financial deepening in ASEAN.
