Abstract

Climate change is becoming increasingly alarming and causing negative impacts on human life. Carbon emissions also play a role in climate change. The increased consentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has led to the greenhouse effect, resulting in a rise in global temperatures. Building construction contributes to carbon emissions in the atmosphere. Building account for 36% of global energy consumption and responsible for 39% of global carbon emissins. The goverment is activately promoting the concept of net zero carbon buildings as a solution to reduce carbon emissions in the contruction sector. Net zero carbon buildings are structures with very low energy consumption that can be met with the use of renewable energy. Contractors, as parties responsible for material selection and construction methods, play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions. The research was conducted using a quantitative method by collecting data through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents. Data testing was performed using SPSS 25 application to ensure the validity and reliability of the obtained data. Data analysis was conducted to find the frequency and percentage of respondent’s answers and then calculate the average values of the responses. The research results showed that the majority of respondents about 95% agreed on climate change, 95% agreed on the implementation of net zero carbon buildings and 93% agreed on the efforts of buildings to achieve net zero carbon.
