Abstract
The digestibility of feed in the rumen can be increased through the addition of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) ingredients. NPN substitution will drive rumen microbial activity and population. NPN Ruminofrass is a substitution of NPN derived from the results of BSF fly cultivation that has been harvested. This study aims to determine the level of digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of napier grass. This research was carried out from September to November 2022 at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feed, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This observation was made by in sacco method and analyzed using t test with 2 treatments and 5 repeats, with a total of 20 samples. The treatment consists of P0 (dry matter of napier grass) and P1 (Napier grass + NPN Ruminofrass). The results of this study showed that the digestibility of ruminants in dry matter (KcBK) and organic matter (KcBO) of elephant grass was not significantly different from the addition of NPN Ruminofrass, for KcBK the highest average value was found in P0 treatment 39.59% and in KcBO the highest average was found in P1 treatment 28.41%. The conclusion of this study is that the addition of elephant grass with NPN Ruminofrass can increase KcBK and KcBO in ruminants.
