Abstract
This research aimed to find out the influence of porosity and electrical conductivity to briquette fertilizer and nitrate (NO3-) release on Ultisol. This research was conducted in House of Soil Preparation, Department of Soil Science, Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University and analysis of porosity in Physics and Soil Conservation Laboratory, and analysis electrical conductivity, pH (H2O), and total nitrate (NO3-) release was done in Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Department of Soil Science, Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University. The implementation of this study began in October 2017 until April 2018. This research uses Completely Randomized Factorial Design with the composition of coal fly ash and azolla biomass as treatment factor 1 and percent of urea fertilizer composition as treatment factor 2 then made into 9 combination and 3 replications so that there are 27 experimental units. The results showed that coal fly ash and azolla biomass had no significant effect on porosity of briquette, but has a significant effect on electrical conductivity and total nitrate release, while urea has significant effect on porosity, electric conductivity and total nitrate release of briquette. BR-8 briquette with a combination of 80 % (60 % ATB : 40 % AZ): 20 % Urea is showed at the level of lowest porosity, slowest electrical conductivity and BR-9 briquette with a combination of 70 % (60 % ATB : 40 % AZ): 30 % Urea is highest total nitrate release.
